           Cathy Corcilius, called “Cat” for short, has been  a professional artist  for almost  twenty years and has  become known for her paintings of many subjects, such as native American Indians, American wildlife, native American pottery and & still life's.  Her style is representational.

            Several years ago, for a book titled, Art of the American West, she was invited to have one of her pieces,  (“Red Thunder”) included and featured as a two page introduction.  The Leanin’ Tree greeting card company has licensed her work since 1992 and  she is proud to show her work on their greeting cards.  Cat's work was also included in a PBS special produced by Rainbow Productions in California, featuring CA artist,  Mehl Lawson in the late 90’s.  In a special segment of the PBS special, "examples of American Western Art," she was honored to discover that she was the only woman artist included with her piece called, "Pride of a Warrior."

             She has done eleven limited edition prints which sold out quickly, and are highly sought after on the secondary market. Additionally, four of her pieces have been licensed by two collectible plate companies, Reco & Danbury, for use on collectible plates. 

             Cat’s interest in fine art began while in high school, encouraged by several  art teachers, she attended the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles, California.  In the years since, she has benefited from the tutorage of several renowned professional artists.          

             Taking time out for marriage and children, Cat began her professional art  career in the late 80’s instantly gaining gallery representation in several states with  the popularity of her portraits of American Indians.

            Cat Corcilius is a member of several National Art Organizations:  Oil Painters of America, (OPA),   American Plains Artists, (APA),  The National Oil & Acrylic Painters Society, (NOAP),  & the American Women Artists, (AWA).              

            Besides being represented in galleries,  nationally recognized juried exhibitions and shows are another way Cat shows her work.

                                        Cat and her husband live in Arizona.
